mind the gap

21 September 2005

I'm slowly getting over my cold. Working helps, as weird as that may seem. My students have been relatively nice to me while I've had no voice. Today was a good day, all day. I had a meeting at the LEA after work for overseas trained teachers. What a waste of time and we didn't even get any compensation for going! I just got in. The room was stifling hot and there wasn't enough time to do all the things they had on the agenda so we rushed, rushed, rushed through everything. I did get a free dinner out of it though.

The days rush by in a haze lately. I spent a good part of the night reading some of the Psalms last night.

"Have mercy on me, God, for I am in distress." Psalm 31:9

"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: He will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him." Psalm 37:5-7a

"I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD." Psalm 40:1-3
