mind the gap

The dog days of summer are tough around here.
So there are officially 2 weeks left of summer. I think I'm the only teacher around on campus which has worked to my advantage. The janitors have been ace in helping me sort some things out. I had this horrible shelf, coat rack looking thing across the back wall. I brought my handy dandy drill will me and I got all of it unscrewed except one stupid screw that would not cooperate. It took 3 men to get it down. That made me feel not so weak and pathetic. They moved the furniture around for me and hauled away piles of junk. I won't have the luxury of a custodian at my beck and call the first week of school so I took full advantage whilst I could. Now the boxes can be moved in and my desk unpacked. The walls are decorated, the bulletin boards ready to go. The big huge cabinet at the back has been cleaned (the countertop was nasty.. the rags came up black when we finished). There's still much to do but after 5 hours, I'd had enough.

Oh, I got my haircut today. It looks very cute, if I do say so myself. I like having it like this, sort of A-line, long enough to wear up but short enough to look ok if I don't do anything to it. If I wasn't such a sweaty mess after loading the car with school stuff, I'd take a picture. But alas, I'm not very picture worthy at the moment. One day I'll be America's. Next. Top. Mod. El. But not today.
