I've had 2 more interviews last week, neither of which I got. The first one bummed me out because I wanted that job. I thought I had a good chance too as Heather's friend is the VP and she raved about me to him. But obviously, they were looking for something or someone else because I didn't get it. I don't know that it would've been the right school for me but I wanted it to be. Sometimes God knows better and puts me where I should be.
The second interview was the strangest I've ever been in. 6 interviewers, 20 questions with a 30 min time limit on the entire thing. The principal was cold, very hard to read. At the end of it, he said, "We have time for you to ask us a couple of questions." So I ask my standard questions.. Why should I want to work here? And what are the strengths and weaknesses of your school? His response to the first one? Sarcastically, "We were wondering why you wanted to work here." Instead of really answering my question, he deferred to other people. Then his comment was about how the facility was kept nicely because he was particular about it being clean. Uh, ok. Then, for the follow up, I ask about the strengths. 2 of the teachers answer about the kids, the parents, blah blah blah. So I ask about weaknesses, and the principal interrupts and said, "I said you could ask a COUPLE of questions." End. Of. Interview. I walked out of there wondering what in the world just happened. Needless to say, didn't get that one but honestly, I didn't want it after that! It would've meant a $5000 pay cut and working for another principal like the one I already work for. No thanks.

Disa and I are coming to Scotland in June! We've booked flights and are planning 2 weeks in the Highlands. Neither of us has been up there before so we're going to drive around and take in the lovely views and sites. I'm looking forward to getting away from CA again. My bank account is bare almost but I don't care. Life is for living.

On Saturday, I went to my RS teacher's house to watch the Kentucky Derby and the De La Hoya fight. I'm not a fan of either horse racing or boxing but it was an excuse to have a party and meet some new people. I met all of Terri's in-laws and 2 of her brothers. There was more alcohol consumed than I've ever seen 15 people drink and at last count, I was groped by her father in law and 2 people I didn't know. Lovely. But, her brother took a fancy to me and asked her if he could have my number. We'll see. He's nice... Monica likes him, has known him forever and keeps saying, "He's a good guy, so nice." He hasn't called me yet so who knows what will come of it.

I've been a terrible blogger of late but I haven't had a lot to say. I've had almost weekly migraines again so my doctor has adjusted my meds. So far, so good. School's out in 14 days and trust me, I am ready!
