31 December 2006 I've been busy the last few weeks with family stuff and holiday merry making. No time to update!Yesterday, I drove up to the cabin for the day to have snowball fights with Andrew, my parent's best friends' grandson. He's 5 and a ball of energy just like his mother. We had a ball, making 2 snowmen and throwing piles of snow at each other. My dad and his 'Papo' Mike joined in the fun. I love the joy of a child, experiencing something new for the first time. Christmas was lovely. We had my grandparents and their friends to my parents' house for Christmas Eve dinner and then I had to sing at the 10:30 service at church. I think I got home after Santa visited because the stockings were empty Christmas morning. Of course, he visited my parents' house though and we cleaned up this year! Even Samson got two presents. My sister and BIL were down for the day on Christmas and my aunt and uncle came over for dinner. It was a quiet day, very relaxed and still fun. The last week or so has been full of after Christmas shopping, lunch dates with friends and a few evenings out on the town. It's been nice to have today to do nothing until tonight. I got Samson's crate and his toys back from Ruth's house and after scrubbing everything down, he curled up in his crate and promptly fell asleep. I thought I'd have to re-train him to use it but apparently he remembered with no help from me. I'm glad to have it back so he has a proper place to sleep again, instead of on the couch. May 2007 be a blessing to us all. Happy New Year from our house to yours! |
