mind the gap

01 September 2006

Good grief I am a bad blogger the last few months and for that I am truly sorry. Ok, sorry to the two people who check in.

My life at the moment consists of 2 things, working and sleeping. I come home from work and lay down for a nap. Or I wrestle with the dog but that is sort of like sleeping because all I have to do is lay there and he runs around me with glee. It's not very energetic but hey, he's not chasing rats or skunks in the garden so I can't complain. (Yes, we've had both skunk and rat visitors in the back yard the last 3 weeks. LOVELY.)

I move into the new house on 7 Oct and have a flurry of activity going on between now and then. Wedding stuff takes up time but I've also got doctor's appointments, loan docs to sign. It just never ends!

My dad's company was sold about a month ago and until yesterday we weren't sure he'd even have a job. He was afraid they'd have to move to upstate NY or to Wisconsin if the new company hired him and transferred him. But alas, all is saved as he was hired (at a lower salary but with a handsome signing bonus) and the parental unit won't be moving to lands far away and unknown. The world can sleep soundly now.

Today, my elbow hurts. Work is going well but I won't write about it much because without job security, I don't want to be dooced. Besides, blogging about my last job didn't help AT ALL when it came down to brass tacks, probably because that demon spawn infested school would be better to be shut down by Ofsted than continue the farce of an education that goes on there. But I'm not bitter.

Oh and I'm reminded yet again by a 'friend' here that having a blog is for serious dorks. I rather like having a blog but whatever. I don't hand out my blog address to everyone I come across or expect that they read what I write here to find out what's going on with me. When I start making t-shirts about my blog and trying to hock them to raise money for my latest vacation, then you can tell me to shut the hell up. Until then... deal.
